In the next 7 days Travis and I will celebrate his birthday, our one year engagement anniversary and our 4 month wedding anniversary! We are very excited about how far we have come but this only highlights just how far behind we are on documenting our amazing wedding. To start, I want to share some special memories (and a lot of photos) from our wedding shower.
On March 19, 2016 my fabulous MOH threw the most amazing wedding shower I've ever been to. Most of the details of the shower were kept a secret but I knew the location (this cool pavilion with fireplaces that came in VERY handy) and that we would have some amazing food. When I arrived I was amazed by the amount of preparation and care that had gone into this event. The decorations were simple but beautiful and the games were fun and avoided all the cheesiness that usually accompanies wedding shower games.
The Food. Everyone in attendance will remember this as the best shower food they have ever eaten. My amazing uncle and cousin drove up from Austin (bringing their own grills), woke up at dawn, and spent all morning cooking. We had an array of jalapeno poppers, sliders, jambalaya, lobster nuggets, veggies, and more! And of course a yummy cake made by Nana!
What is a wedding shower if you don't share it with all the people you love? We were very blessed to have quite a few of our close friends and family attend. Many had to travel across the country and most of them had to travel to the other side of the city. We are so thankful that everyone made the effort to come celebrate with us!
Who can resist cute kid pics?! We had a lot of great kids at the party and they are just adorable!
When Travis and I left our wedding shower that day we were overwhelmed by how generous everyone was with their time, creativity, and gifts. We felt (and feel) immensely blessed by everyone who helped us celebrate our future (at the time) wedding. I want to say a special thank you to the following people:
Thank you Alison for the amazing job you did planning this wedding shower. Nobody else could have hosted a shower that reflected our personalities better. Thank you for putting up with us and for being such a great friend!
Kelley is the talented photographer that took all the pictures you see in this blog post. I met her on my first day at Southwest and have been blessed by her generous spirit ever since. Thank you, Kelley!
One last thank you goes to my Dad. There aren't many pictures of him because (as usual) he spent his time behind the video camera but it was well worth it because he created two great videos of the shower. The first video is a time-lapse of before, during, and after the shower so you can see just how much effort went into the entire event. The second video is his footage of the shower (with some fun animations). I would highly recommend it!
